Georgios Kermalis was born in 1988, grew up in Peristeri and he is a graduate of the High School of Arts. From 1996 to 1998, he studied design at the Holy Church of Saint Taxiarches in Peristeri. Then, he took lessons of hagiography at the Holy Church of Saint Ierotheos, having as a teacher Mrs Efrosyni Kostopoulou; There he was teached the Cretan School of Iconography of Theophanis and Kris and Emmanouil Panselinos with a focus on frescoes. He was rewarded with eight years of distinction and praise as well as with diplomas of hagiography (iconography) – frescoes painting. Within this period of time, he attended seminars of free (abstract) design at the School of Mr. Sarasitis. Then, he attended lessons of Hagiography/Iconography – Frescoes Painting at the School «Luke the Evangelist” of Mr. Demetrios Mourlas from 2006 up to 2007. Thereafter, he took lesson of Iconography – Polishing of Gold at the School “Eikonourgias” of Mr. Kordis, as well as lessons of encaustic method at the Benaki Museum, having as a teacher Mrs. Aikaterini Perimeni.
In 2013, he attended lessons of the technique of polishing gold & wrought gold «Tsoukaniko» at the School «Panselinos», having as a teacher Mr. Georgios Sidiropoulos. He also holds a diploma of the technique of mosaic and stained glass. He has participated at plenty group exhibitions, such as in Gazi of the Municipality of Athens (bazaar exclusive) and for two years in the row at the Exhibition Center of Peristeri, where he published his works, for many of which he was awarded. Specifically, the work of Saint Georgios impressed by the way it was painted. His last participations took place in 2013 at the gallery «Art kolonaki» and in 2016 at the 21st exhibition ORTHODOXY of Ecclesiastical items and Iconography, at the exhibition center Hellexpo in Maroussi. Many of his works have crossed the borders of Greece and lie in Churches and private collections abroad. He has a Shop and a Hagiography/Iconography Studio at 128 Skoufa Street, in Petroupolis.
